About ISO 22301

ISO 22301 is the international standard for Business Continuity Management System published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 165 national standards bodies.

The standard was first published in 2012 by ISO and has been revised recently in 2019, now making it ISO 22301:2019.

  1. Application Review – Once ESI will review and accept your application for ISO 22301, the Stage 1 Audit dates will be set (along with your team) to review your documents
  2. Stage 1 Audit – This audit is mainly for Documentation Review; where our auditors will assess and verify your BCMS documentation to ensure they are prepared effectively in accordance with the ISO 22301 (BCMS) standard requirements. If the documents under observation are in order, then we move to Stage 2 Audit
  3. Stage 2 Audit – ESI auditors will visit your office premises and conduct the external audit to ensure that the documentation reviewed and verified in Stage 1 Audit are actually being implemented effectively within your organization
  4. Certification – After successful completion of Stage 2 Audit, ESI auditors will submit their findings and report to the Audit Manager who will verify the effectiveness and compliance to the BCMS Standard and finally ESI will grant your organization with the ISO 22301 Certification

ISO 22301:2019 is the latest version.

Upon submission of the application for getting certified, it may take up to 2-3 weeks to receive the ISO 22301 certification based on the size of the company and complexity of the company’s activities.
